Description

Another "sighting" of a trio of characters who are much more popular than the Raccoon. Or they were, since strangely both the Powerpuff Girls and their rivela have fallen from populartiy for a long time. Did anyone happen to notice that a new PPG comic actually came and went--AND one story-arc featured the RRB? It was a better story then those few RRB tales featured back in issues of Action Pack! Anyway, back in the day--has it really been so long?--King Moonraiser had a site dedicated to the RRB. One page was a list of RRB "sightings", very rare occurences where the Boys showed up in merchendising and cameos. Above is a pic which showed later, after the site was down, and I don't recall that anyone ever called attention to it. This is from a series of pictures depicting the PPG characters, that came with the Powerpuff DVD boxed set. Each volume contians one pic. Together the pictures make a panorama that depicts the villains of the show all charging toward the PPG, who are squaring off against them. The Mayor is at the very back, apparently thinking everyone's off to a party or something. Anyway, obviously the RRB are included. Apparently, this was actaully drawn by Craig MacCracken hiimself. While I've read that McCracken "hated" the RRB (notice he didn't put them in the final PPG episode, even though they'd officially been brought back, and should have been there), I'm not so sure, as he included them here, and in the poster of the PPG characters included in the Powerzine. I think Craig actually worried that they would detract form the main charaters if they returned. Even so, I've certainly disagreed with his apparent attitude towad the RRb from the start. But in this pic, its noteworthy that he's stuck with their original hairstyles--that's one thing, at least,  he and I are an agreement with. I never much cared fore the "punked" hairstyles they were given on their return.

Contrary to what TV Tropes said, Craig McCracken actually thinks the RRBs are great characters, and the reason he didn't include them in The Powerpuff Girls Rule!!! was because they were not independent villains and were extensions of Mojo Jojo. He thought including them in the special would have made the story confusing.
